Lyman Estate Wedding
A Lyman Estate wedding offers a uniqe wedding experience. Located in Waltham, MA The Lyman Estate is a historic country estate. Also known as “The Vale”, it was originally built in 1793 by a wealthy merchant as a summer home. This Federal style of building was very popular in the 18th century, of which, the Vale is a pristine example. The home is very nice, but the grounds are even more stunning. Lots of trees line the property so there’s always shade for portraits. The working greenhouse is also a great backdrop, as well as a destination for portriats.
September To Remember
This September wedding was a fine day to show off all the Lyman has to offer. Both the bride and groom finished their preparations on the property and we planned a first look outside on the path to the greenhouse. We could not have possibly had a better location to photograph the bride and groom seeing each other for the first time. After family and wedding party photos we actually got access to the interior of the greenhouse which led to some amazing portraits.
The ceremony outside on the lawn is a popular option for couples. The autumn sun drenches the area in warm sunlight making for some dramatic images. After the ceremony we were able to take the bride and groom around the front of the property for a few more portraits in the evening light. This was followed with some introductions, first dance and speeches all on the veranda while the guests witnessed this from below. Dancing was inside the estate, allowing guests to enjoy the whole of the property throughout different parts of the day.
