Martha’s Vineyard wedding ceremony at the Gayhead lighthouse in Aquinnah, MA
Aquinnah, MA – The western edge of the island of Martha’s Vineyard holds a special treat for visitors in the Lighthouse at Gay Head. Overlooking the clay cliffs of Aquinnah and Vineyard Sound, the Gay Head Lighthouse was built in 1799 and is still in use and currently open for tours and private events. Leanne and Dan chose this spot for their Gay Head lighthouse wedding ceremony.
Before the official start of the ceremony guests were able to go up and visit the lighthouse and check out the breathtaking view of the western tip of the island. With just under 50 guests in attendance, this ceremony was able to maintain an intimate feel even while surrounded by such natural splendor. It was a great day to be a wedding photographer too! It’s not every week that we have the opportunity to work in such a unique and spectacular site. We were thrilled that the ceremony lasted as long as it did!
